A Calm Stretch Before the Sunday Switch: High Pressure, Travel Outlook, and Where the Rain Hides

Stephen Pellettiere
SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this is Middle Roger, Steve Pellethiri, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpod.com on your Thursday. It is the 16th day of October, 2025, and fair weather abounds across the eastern half of the nation on this Thursday. As high pressure currently across the Great Lakes continues to drift east by southeast very, very slowly. Looks like it'll give us excellent conditions, most likely right in through this weekend. And then an area of low pressure will probably form in the east sometime, either Sunday night or Monday, along with a cold front. The next surge of high pressure starts to move our way. But looking across the nation at this point, most of the rainy weather is across the Dakotas, Montana, into Colorado, Wyoming, northern sections of Utah, and also into southern Idaho. That area is going to dry out just a bit as it gets depressed further south along the frontal system stationary across the mid-Atlantic states, from uh all the way around uh Kentucky, Tennessee, eastward to the Carolinas, and then into Florida. There will be that areas of some showers developing by later Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. But until that time, it's just looking very dry. Highs today, upper 50s, lower 60s. Tomorrow, also in the lower 60s, warming up Saturday, mid to upper 60s to near 70, but then 70 to 75 before those showers that I mentioned start to move in on Sunday night and Monday. If you're traveling for today, uh aviation-wise across the nation, we are looking at fair conditions in the east. Generally good in Chicago, although clouds will be on the increase. It looks like some rain at night and tomorrow. Also, fair skies from New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., all the way up to the Boston area. No problems weather-wise for flying. No expected delays in Atlanta and also in Charlotte. Nashville's looking good. Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, warm but dry for the most part. Could be a few isolated showers along the South Texas coast. And on the West Coast, looks like fair weather in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Francisco. They had some rain earlier this week, much needed rainfall, but they'll need some more high pressures building in Deportland and Seattle. Dry weather expected into the air. No weather delays in aviation for this upcoming Thursday or even Friday as well, for the most part, most places I mentioned. I'm D Major Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to your first thing on Friday. See you then.
