Peak Foliage And A Calm Stretch From The Carolinas To Southern New England
Hi, this is Meteor Roger Steve Pelletier and I'm the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Thursday, 23rd day of the month of October, 2025, as this month continues to rocket by. But it looks like the weather situation across the eastern seaboard now graced with some autumn conditions, and rightfully so. It is uh mid to late October. And looks like if you're uh planning to take a look at some of the autumn foliage, it's just about at its peak across the southern Hudson Valley, northeastern Pennsylvania, western New Jersey. You go a little bit further south, it's uh probably a look maybe a couple of days or maybe a week away from peak as you head down maybe I-81 and Route 78 through Pennsylvania, then I-81 down into uh southeastern sections of southwestern portions of uh Pennsylvania, and then into Maryland, West Virginia, then ultimately heading down to Frederick, Virginia. That whole area down to Shenandoah probably is the place to be for the next, say, two or three weeks because they'll be approaching their maximum viewing for foliage uh sometime about the middle to the end of next week. But uh around here and to the northeast, New York City, North Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, southeast New York, and southern Connecticut, we're just around at the peak at this point. And uh this weekend we the viewing should be pretty good, but a lot of leaves are on their way down at this point. Now, weather-wise for the Eastern Seaboard, we've got some great weather coming up today. Had a frontal system move through, looks like some fine conditions for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, right in through the weekend, extending from the Carolinas northward, right up into southern New England. A little bit of uh shower action across central and northern New England associated with an upper level low swinging on through there. But generally look for fair skies and sunshine and high temperatures on the upper 50s to near 60 today, and then mostly clear at night down into the 30s. It'll be a frost in northeastern Pennsylvania, southeastern New York and the Finger Lakes, and western and northern Connecticut, southern and western portions of Massachusetts. But we are looking at sunny weather on Friday up to near 60. Also sunny Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of next week, with temperatures for the most part only in the 50s. Daytime, 30s and lower 40s expected at night. Now, if you're traveling by air today, my airliner. Seeing that a frontal system did move through the eastern seaboard, there are some showers in northwestern Pennsylvania, central northern New York State, up to the Adirondacks, up into central and northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and southern Ontario and southern Quebec province. Also looking at some shower and rainy weather across the eastern Great Lakes, another area of rain across four corners out in the central and western uh Rockies, and it looks like uh maybe a few light showers, the Texas Gulf Coast from Houston down to Corpus Christi, and also looking at some scattered showers in southern Florida, but a good portion of the Florida Peninsula on the dry side today. No problems in Atlanta, dry conditions there, so no problems in and out of there. Weatherwise, weather wise into Charlotte, good conditions to New York, LaGuardia, JFK, maybe a few delays because of the winds a bit gusty, and that slows things down a bit. Chicago's looking pretty good, but Cleveland will be under some rain. Boston also up chance of some showers. Maybe a shower or two in Houston. Uh Dallas Fort Worth, just very warm, late-day thunderstorm possible. Showers possible in southern Florida, from Miami down to the Keys. Uh Fort Myers at this point, also up to Tampa St. Pete, Jacksonville, North, and Tallahassee to the northwest, all looking pretty good. Dry conditions in LA, San Francisco, and San Diego. Looks like some rain moving into Portland and the Pacific Northwest, Seattle, Tacoma. I'm Eddie Bonger, Steve Fellatier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. I'll talk to you first thing on Friday. And we'll take a look at that developing tropical system in the Gulf, Melissa. A tropical storm could become a major hurricane, but maybe, hopefully, staying along the eastern seaboard towards the middle and the end of next week. We'll have more on that for tomorrow. Talk to you then. Take care.
