Thanksgiving Weather At A Glance

Stephen Pellettiere
SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this is Meteor Roger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Friday. It is the 21st day of the month of November, and looking at uh weather situation for today across the Eastern Seaboard, showing another frontal system moving through. So it's going to bring us some rain sometime overnight Friday into Saturday across uh from DC all the way up to Baltimore, Philly, and New York, and even up into the Boston area. Uh the frontal system moves through pretty quickly, so it will rain during the overnight Friday into Saturday. Saturday morning the rain ends, move east. High pressure starts to build in for a few days. As a matter of fact, it looks like we'll have generally fair skies Saturday afternoon, continuing through Sunday and Monday. Then by Tuesday, another area of low pressure will be arriving. And here's where we get to take a look at what the weather's going to be on the Thanksgiving holiday. Now, looks like the wet day is going to be on Wednesday of this upcoming weekend, Wednesday night. A strong frontal system will be moving through, and although there might be some showers during the early going on Thanksgiving Day, it looks like dry weather, brisk northwesterly flow, so some colder conditions too, starting to move into the New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore area, and even up in the Boston region. It'll be fair, windy, and cold up in Chicago and Minneapolis, St. Paul, very cold with high pressure building right down from Canada. And it looks like generally fair conditions for Atlanta and a good portion of central and south Florida. No problems weather-wise in Texas on Thanksgiving Day. It looks dry throughout the state and on the warm side. And also dry conditions in central and southern California. Northern portions of the Pacific Northwest will be another area of low pressure moving into Seattle, Tacoma, eventually down into the Porton area sometime later on Thursday or Friday of next week. But as mentioned, we are looking at some pretty good weather for today. A lot of cloud cover in the east because this low pressure moved through. We'll get into some showers. Highs today, 50 to 55, lows tonight, only 40 with the rain. That rain ends. We get clearing also back into the middle 50s. Looks like uh fair and a little bit cooler. 40s, the lower 50s on Sunday. Monday is also looking dry before that next area of rain moves in that I mentioned. So I give you a look at what it's going to be like on Thanksgiving Day at this point. And of course, I know we're a good week away, but that's how it looks at this point. Much of the nation will be dry and okay, but it will be preceded by that strong frontal system. Now, if you're traveling today, not the greatest weather situation across the Tennessee Valley, Kentucky looking rain. Looks like rain across West Virginia and a good portion of Virginia. It extends just into southeastern Pennsylvania and extreme southern New Jersey by later on today and tonight. Rainy conditions also in Charlotte and also in Raleigh. And down in Atlanta, it looks like the rain will be moving in during the afternoon. Dry in the morning, but some rain in the afternoon will bring it down to what we call FR conditions and slowing things down in and out of Atlanta Hartsfield. And we're also looking at generally fair skies in central and south fardeau, Atlanta, Tampa, Fort Myers, Miami, and West Palm, all dry conditions expected for uh during the daytime today and tomorrow. It does look like uh rainy weather in Houston, but Dallas is starting to clear out there. The rain still in Southern California looks like it'll linger at least through the daytime today and into tonight. That storm will move into the Fort Corners region and then over the southern continent. And as a matter of fact, we're going to be getting into drier weather in much of California for the daytime on Saturday and Sunday before the next frontal system moves in sometime later on next week. Also, it looks like some rainy conditions up in Seattle, but dry in the Portland area at this point. So still some rain in LA and San Diego, but it looks like the improving trend will develop later on today and tonight. I'm India Roger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. I want to talk to your first thing on Saturday. Take a look at that holiday forecast as well. See you then.
