Lake-Effect Snow Slams The Great Lakes While The Northeast Clears
Hi, this is Medium Roger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to the WeathermanPod.com on your Thursday, 27th day of November. It's Thanksgiving Thursday, and the weather situation across the Northeast has improved. However, across the Great Lakes, it's all that cold air coming right down out of Hudson Bay. And then moving across Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and also to the eastern shores of Lake Michigan, southern shores of Lake Erie and Ontario. And that's going to cause some blizzard-like conditions in all places in the UP of Michigan, especially along the uh just to the south of Lake Superior, and as mentioned, uh just over the eastern portion of the Great Lakes. Uh places like Cleveland across through Erie and up to Salmanica, and then even in uh just south of Buffalo are going to be getting tremendous amounts of snowfall from the lake effects, snow showers that and squalls that will be developing over Lake Erie and also Lake Ontario, too, places north of Utica, Rome, and up in Messina and just south of uh the Canadian border. You're just gonna see those places there between uh five to fifteen inches of snow or higher, maybe in some places closer to the lake. You can get maybe a couple of feet of snow from this situation. But across the northeast and the New York area, it looks dry, but a little bit windy for the parade in New York City. Wind gusts will be up to 35 miles per hour. Also up in Boston, it's gonna be pretty good, plenty of sunshine, but uh some fair weather clouds during the afternoon. Fair in Washington, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. Further south down to Charlotte and Atlanta, the weather's looking pretty good. There is some showers across Central and South Florida from West Palm south to Miami. And out in Houston and Dallas, it's just dry, but uh a little bit colder than you're normally accustomed to in a very cold weather moving down into the Dakotas, single digits and teens and lower 20 is expected in those places. The Pacific Northwest, that's where another area of low pressure is moving in. Looks like it will give rain to Portland and Seattle right through Friday morning. But in the meantime, though, uh for today, looking at sunshine temperatures, only 40 to 45 with those gusty winds out of the west, making that wind chill a factor back into the upper 20s tonight, 40 to 45 on Friday and Saturday. Sunday looks like some rain moving in from the west. I've been your Major Steve Pellet here and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving day Thursday. And uh looks like uh we are going to have some cooler weather. Now we'll continue right in through tomorrow. We'll update the details later on tonight and we'll talk to you first thing tomorrow. See you then.
