High Pressure Brings Calm Weather As The Great Lakes Brace For Squalls
Hi, this is MediaManister, Steve Pellethiery and I'm the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpod.com on your Wednesday. It's the third day of December, 2025, and high pressure now descending across the region after a wet day. Yesterday was a white day across much of New York State and central and northern New England, where uh many inches of snow, up to five to fifteen inches of snow fell across the finger lakes up into central and northern New York State, central and northern New England as well. That storm continues to move far offshore now. High pressures building in, plenty of sunshine today. Highs are rise to near 40, north winds at 5 miles per hour, becoming light and verbal during the afternoon. Fairly partly cloudy for tonight. Overnight lows into the middle to upper 20s. Then partial sunshine, another good day for tomorrow on Thursday, with their high temperatures in the mid-Atlantic states up to about the 40 to 45 degree range. But is at night when a little cold front moves through, so temperatures will drop back into the middle teens, some of the coldest weather that we've had so far this new season. And then back to partly sunny conditions on Friday. Warming up on Saturday and Sunday. Before that occurs, a little warm front poking through on Friday night could result in some snow showers. Both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. Highs upper 30s, low to middle 40s expected. And sharply colder weather will be arriving in our vicinity sometime around the middle of next week for the whole mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Now, if you're traveling by air today, great clear weather expected for the Northeast. Looks like Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, all the way up to New York City and Boston, all under the influence of high pressure, and that means clear, dry weather, and not even that windy. So as far as weather delays are concerned, from flying by air, no problems expected for today in those places. Atlanta is going to be dry, as it will be Charlotte. Central and South Florida also under the influence of fair weather. Looks like good conditions out in Houston and Dallas Fort Worth, but up in a Chicago area with that strong cold front that's going to be moving into the eastern seaboard. I said to bring some snow showers and squalls from central and southern Wisconsin across into northern Illinois and Indiana, including the Chicago area. So there could be some moderate delays into the Chicago region because of turbulence and snow showers and squalls as the next Arctic high pressure system starts to build down from Canada. And that will be preceded by areas of showers and snow showers, squalls across much of the Great Lakes as that high pressure moves in. So Chicago with some delays because of those snow showers. Also looking at dry weather in much of the west coast, San Diego, LA, and San Francisco, but a few light showers expected up in Portland and Seattle, as typical for this time of year. So some pretty good weather along the eastern seaboard. Minimal problems flying today because of the weather. We do expect some snow showers and squalls in many places across the central and eastern Great Lakes today. I'm in your monster, Steve Pellethiery and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Thursday. See you then.
