Northeast Rain Today, Snow Next

Stephen Pellettiere
SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this has been your model just Steve Pellethiery, and thanks for checking into the WeathermanPond.com on your Wednesday. It's the tenth day of the month of December, third of the way through this month already. And our weather situation for the Northeast does show just a little bit of a frontal system moving through during the afternoon and evening. That will most likely result in some rainy weather. It could show up as some snow across northeastern Pennsylvania, the Catskills of New York, Finger Lakes area, and also across central and northern portions of New York State and into New England. Looks like some more snow in those places. That's because we are anticipating some colder weather moving in once again behind the frontal system today. So it's going to be overcast with the possibility of some rain moving in during the afternoon and early evening hours for today, but it will end up as some snow showers across the Poconos and Caskills, as mentioned. Our highs today, 40 to 45 for tonight, looks like some snow showers, windy and colder. Overnight lows 25 to 30. Thursday's weather is also looking mostly sunny. Highs for the day, but colder in the middle 30s. It's going to be breezy too. West winds on Thursday at around 15 to 20. They'll be gusting to 40 miles per hour. Thursday night could be some snow showers, otherwise partly cloudy, down to about 20 to 25. Friday's weather's looking mostly sunny, 35. The winter of the weekend we do see a frontal system approaching from the northwest. That's going to give us the chance of light snow or snow showers on Saturday and Saturday night, and even into early Sundays, a possibility of some snow showers, but windy and cold weather highs on Saturday, only 32 to 37. Highs on Sunday, only near the freezing mark. And we do get into some drier weather, but a continued cold for early next week. Both Monday and Tuesday, temperatures hovering only in the upper 20s and lower 30s across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Now, if you're traveling by air today, most places start out dry if you're traveling early on Wednesday. It looks good in Atlanta and in Charlotte. No problems weatherwise there. The weather should be generally fair. Although a frontal system is approaching uh northern Georgia, northern uh Alabama, but that front will be dry in those places. Up in the New York area, it looks like just overcast with some rainy weather during the afternoon. Does it look like heavy areas of rainfall just on the light side, so no major problems weather wise. Uh your problems into Albany, maybe up in the Buffalo, that's where you're going to have some snow squalls and also problems with snow, so probably cancellations and delays into those places. Also looking at snow in central and northern Vermont, where they normally expect it, and really need it this time of year. Up in the Boston area, just dry, but maybe some rain showers late in the day. Now in Central and South Florida, if you're going down there, in Orlando, it's looking dry, dry also in Miami and Fort Myers. It looks like generally fair conditions in Houston, although the frontal system will be moving through there, it's basically dry. Dallas Fort Worth also showing mostly dry conditions and a little bit cooler there. Chicago, some snow showers, but no major problems there weather wise. Just bone-chilling cold across Minnesota and Minneapolis. A few snow showers expected, but also a clearing trend of very arctic cold. The colder weather continues across western Dakotas and into central and northern Montana, although there'll be some snow in many places there. It rained probably in the western portion of Montana and northern Idaho. And that means dry weather in LA and San Francisco, but rainy conditions continue in Portland and Seattle today. I'm in your mind, just Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Looks like I have a uh change in the weather pattern towards some colder weather as we head into the weekend, but for today just uh looks like an increase in clouds and maybe some rain across the mid-Atlantic and northeast. Hope you have a good day. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. See you then.
