SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this is Midi Roger Steve Pelleterian. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Sunday, fourth day of the month of January, 2026. And we've been under some pretty cold weather across the Mid Atlantic and northeast portion of the United States over the last 35 days. Looks like that's going to continue just for a little while longer before we get into some moderation. Normally you get your January thaw. It's something that they show up on the uh climatological records. It seems to happen somewhere between the 20th and 28th of the month. That's after having, of course, some very cold weather in early January and really a normal December. Well, our December's temperatures were averaging around uh between four and seven degrees below normal. Has been in that way since 2010. And uh well, to get a little bit of a thought right now is welcome relief from the very cold conditions that we've had. Not only over the last couple of days, but over the last couple or actually three to four weeks across the area. Now we are going to have some uh early cloud cover, then some sunshine today as our highs reach the middle thirties, but it lows like a little bit of cloud cover moving in tonight. Warm front arriving on Monday. That brings in some clouds, but nighttime lows tonight back into the teens to the lower twenties. And this forecast, of course, from the Baltimore area up to Boston centered right across central and central and northern New Jersey and New York City, where we're located. Looking at a weather situation for uh Monday of the possibility of some afternoon snow flurries, but then uh milder weather into the mid-30s by Tuesday, 40 to 45. Wednesday upper 40s to near 50 also comes in with the possibility of some rain before that occurs either Tuesday night or early Wednesday. Then by Thursday, temperatures back into the mid to upper 40s, but with sunshine, back to rainy weather on Friday and Saturday. Then a return to some colder weather about a week from today, next Sunday, out and around on Sunday, the uh probably 11th, and after that, maybe about three to five days of some pretty cold weather across the region. Now, if you're traveling by air today, generally across the nation, central southern portion of the U.S., we are looking at generally nice weather. A little frontal system stationary across central Florida that extends into the Gulf, but maybe some showers in South Florida, but nothing much. Uh, in Atlanta, it's looking dry, dry, and nice weather in Charlotte, dry in New York City, LaGuardia JFK, Newark, no problems weather-wise. A little bit of cloud cover up in Chicago in the excuse me, Boston area, but that looks like it will diminish a little bit later on today, but no problems getting in and out of there weather-wise. Looking at good weather in Chicago and also in much of Wisconsin. Minneapolis, St. Paul could have very icy conditions. So look for delays or at least cancellations possible into Minneapolis, St. Paul because of weather during the daytime today. Possibility of some ice. They really don't mess with that too much. And uh just causes delays, and you've got to bring things in uh by the book, as they call it. Houston in Dallas Fort Worth looking good. West Coast still continues rainy weather, rainy weather from San Diego, LA, San Francisco, all the way up to Portland and Seattle. It's gonna continue right through Sunday and Sunday night. I'm in your pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to your first thing on Monday. Great rest of the weekend. Take care.
