Mild Today, Rain By Weekend
Hi, this is Bidi Roger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpod.com. This is for Thursday. It's the eighth day of the month of January 2026. And it really turned mild across much of the mid-Atlantic and the northeast. Lots of melting snow, but still lots of snow piles around too. We've got one more day of some very warm weather, and then we get into some rainy conditions as we head into this upcoming weekend, probably starting later on Friday into Saturday and Sunday. Currently that storm is over the nation's midsection. It will be traveling east. But in the meantime, we've got sunny skies upcoming for today across from Richmond up to the Boston area. Looking at with sunny conditions, upper 40s, lower 50s, reached 50 in many spots today. We'll be going into the 50s again on Thursday. Thursday night, there'll be some clouds on the increase. And with cloudy weather for the most part on Friday, still looking at temperatures in the mid-50s, well above normal for this time of year. And we are going to get into some rainy weather for Friday night. Rain on Saturday, especially at night and during the overnight, and then a sharp cold front moves through. We get into a clearing trend on Sunday, but windy early temperatures near 52, dropping back into the 30s and 20s by the end of the day. It'll be only sunny skies with highs in the 30s on Monday and Tuesday of next week. In the meantime, for today, though, plenty of sunshine, with our highs, upper 40s, low to middle 50s across most of the mid-Atlantic and northeast. If you're traveling by air today, finally some dry weather for the west coast, at least from much of California southward all the way down to San Diego into northern Baham. But that area of rain has now moved into four corners, and of course it's showing up as snow in the higher elevations in the mountains. But rain in central and southern sections of Arizona and New Mexico. Up in the central portions and northern sections of Utah, into western Colorado and the Rockies, and also into portions of uh Wyoming, Montana, and even in western and northwestern sections of Nebraska. We've got some snow as that storm continues to move east. But eventually it's a rain situation from the nation's midsection from the central Mississippi River Valley eastward, Kansas, Nebraska, all the way into Illinois, Indiana, all moving eastward. That'll be arriving in the east sometime later Friday and this weekend. So if you're traveling today, good weather in New York, Norfolk, LaGuardia, Philly, Maltimore, and Washington, D.C. Boston looking pretty good too. Rainy weather expected in the Chicago area, just light delays there. Minneapolis, St. Paul, also looking at generally fair conditions, but a little bit warmer too. Then some colder weather moving in as the cold front moves through by later in the day, but generally dry conditions. Central and South Florida looking pretty good. The keys might have a few lights scattered afternoon showers, but most of the time is dry and nice. Looking at fair weather across the New Orleans area and Gulf Coast, but looks like some showers in Houston and exiting showers in Dallas Fort Worth. All the rain in the West Coast is all in the Pacific Northwest, Portland and Seattle. Rainy conditions expected to continue today. I've been watching Steve Fellatier and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Friday. See you then.
