When Your Weekend Goes From Drizzle To Blizzard-Lite

Stephen Pellettiere
SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanbond.com. On your Monday, it's the 12th day of the month of January 2026. And well, we had some wild weather action over the weekend. Well, not really wild on Saturday. This is a rainy day. Uh temperatures went into the 40s and uh many places received between a half and maybe an inch and a quarter of rainfall. That began during the later morning and continued right through the afternoon and evening hours. Then skies actually cleared during the overnight. We started out on this Sunday uh with generally clear skies and some pretty nice weather. But the changes were coming about strong Arctic cold front. Moving down out of the eastern Great Lakes, crossed through Pennsylvania and New York State and much of New England. As I crossed into the northern Pennsylvania, northwestern New Jersey, southeastern New York, there were snow squalls where visibilities went down to a half mile, and temperatures dropped from five to seven degrees in just a matter of minutes. Some of those snow showers and squalls even made it into central portions of New Jersey and uh south central sections of Pennsylvania as well. But very quickly offshore, just the strong winds during the overnight, and that's where we start our day on this Monday. Highs will range between the low to middle forties, plenty of sunshine and a brisk west wind. Fair skies at night, 25 to 30, and it looks like sunny weather back up to about the mid-40s on Tuesday. Wednesday, an increase in clouds could bring us some rain later in the day and at night, with temperatures expected to range back to near 50 by Wednesday afternoon. If you're traveling by air today, it looks like much of the nation is under generally fair skies. The strong Arctic front is now moving through. There are some snow showers and squalls east of Lake Ontario and east of Lake Erie. However, elsewhere, just big area, high pressures building in, no problems in DC, in Baltimore, or even down into the Charlotte and Atlanta area. Weather is going to be good all day long today. New York area, we do have those strong west winds. That does tend to slow things down just a bit, but no major weather problems. Just a few uh maybe wind delays or operation delays into the Newark LaGuardia JFK area because of those strong gusty winds. And you're early going today. Boston's looking pretty good. All the way down in South Florida, might be some late day showers, as is typical around the Keys, but elsewhere, just dry. Dry weather in Houston and Dallas and Chicago as well. West Coast is dry from San Diego all the way up to San Francisco. Some rain will be moving into the Pacific Northwest by later today and tonight. I've been Divogger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Tuesday. See you then.
