Weekend Storm Signals

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is MediaBound to Steve Pelletari, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPot.com on your Friday. It's the 20th day of the month of February, 2026, and we've got some wild weather coming up for the second half of this weekend into early next week as a potential on the Eastern Seaboard. You know, the guidance models that we look at so many of them right now, and a lot of them have to do with artificial intelligence, a lot of them have to do with what's called ensembles when you take a lot of these models and put them all together. And uh, well, they're all showing uh basically about the same thing, I should say, for Sunday night and Monday, except for the U.S. model called the GFS. And the GFS is causing quite a bit of a big storm, uh, looking at the possibility of between five and fifteen inches of snowfall if this uh storm does get going. And that would be anywhere in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, uh across Del Marva, although central and southern Del Marva, probably in the form of some rain, also including New York City, Long Island, and central and southern portions of New England. So that'll be for Sunday night and Monday. We're gonna be following it through the weekend. We'll have the report, at least the update. By Saturday morning, the model should come in line. So we'll really have a really good uh angle of what's happening tomorrow morning at this time. And uh we are looking at uh the possibility of some dry weather for Saturday. But today it's gonna be an overcast and wet day across the Northeast corridors. Our temperatures reach the lower 40s. Uh looks like the possibility of rainfall is at 100% today, looking at a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain. For tonight, still the possibility of some showers then becoming partly cloudy down at 33. Saturday's looking partly sunny. As mentioned, a dry day for Saturday. Hazard reached the middle 40s, but that's the decision day. We'll find all the models which should come in line pretty much uh by Saturday morning, and that'll give us an idea of what's going to happen on Saturday night. Maybe some snow showers, otherwise partly cloudy. Nighttime lows down to 32. And that possibility of snow in the afternoon and evening on Sunday. Probably going to put out winter storm watches during the daytime on Saturday, if in fact the uh USGFS model does start to show uh that that is going to be the main situation for the weekend. But uh it does look like uh this any snow that starts probably around the mid to late morning hours on Sunday and continuing into early Monday, and then a clearing trend, but uh a slow gradual one that on Monday. Then colder weather for the last few days of this month of February. A little bit colder than normal Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, maybe warming up towards the end of next week. Now, if you're traveling today, in particular traveling by air, we do have generally dry conditions uh for much of the Boston area early. However, that rain will be moving in during the afternoon and evening, and that's going to cause some delays up in Boston. Could be some locally heavy weather in and there. There's also a lot of ice involved up in the uh central and northern portion of New England, central Vermont, New Hampshire, and even into uh portions of southern Maine. So uh Boston will be a problem weather-wise during the afternoon hours as that rain and that mixed precipitation does get in. Also, the same situation for the New York area, North Logwarnia, JFK, all IFR weather with uh rain. Some of the rain may be moderate to heavier, but looking at at least maybe a half hour to maybe an hour delays because of the weather in the New York area. Possibly a little bit more. All depends if there's going to be some uh what we call convective activity, some thunderstorms, but it looks like a lot of that is going to be staying off to the south and east. Looks like rainy weather for Baltimore and Philadelphia. However, a clearing trend for DC and Indulas. Uh down in Charlotte, they had rain earlier in the day, and we will have some clearing there. So in the afternoon, no problems. Morning, there could be some delays into there. Morning delays into the Atlanta area, afternoon and evening. It looks like the weather improves quite nicely. A Chicago area with some snow showers with uh strong low pressure over the central Great Lakes. Also very cold weather, but dry in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Looking at uh rain in Houston, generally fair in Dallas, Fort Worth. Uh looks like snow across the Colorado Rockies, sections of Utah, even southern Wyoming, and out on the West Coast, dry finally in San Diego, LA, and San Francisco, but still raining up in Portland and Seattle there. I've been your ball just Steve Pellethieri at 9 a.m. the weatherman. Keep uh tuned this upcoming weekend. We'll have uh probably two updates on Saturday because that's really when we're going to be able to nail down what's gonna happen on Sunday night, early Monday. And until then, have yourself a great Friday. Talk to you on Saturday morning. See you then.
