Weekend Setup And Model Disagreement

SPEAKER_00

Thanks for checking into the Weatherman Pond on your Saturday, the 21st day of the month of February 2026. And the models continue to disagree. The big storm expected for Sunday night and on Monday is going to happen, whether or not it's further south, further east, further north, weak or strong, all going to be determined over the next 48 hours, and we'll be giving you those updates as they occur during the daytime today and also on Sunday. Suffice to say, though, it's going to be a fairly decent day today, partly sunny, variably cloudy, might be a shower, temperatures in the 40s. And then at night, it's going to be increasingly cloudy, with our nighttime low temperatures down into the low to middle 30s. Sunday is a big question, Mark. Looks like a cloudy day with snow developing in the afternoon and continuing into the evening. Whether or not it's heavier times depends on its development. And there could be as little as five to as much as 15 inches of snow from this situation from place to place. And it's always going to vary. Coastal sections may have a little rain changing to snow. Southern portions may get more rain. Northern sections more snow. Further north, even less snow because of the positioning from the center of the low pressure system. You know, when you deal with high pressures, they're large extensive systems. So if you're off by maybe 100 or 200 miles on the as far as the center is concerned, no big deal because most of the area is going to be fair and dry. But when you're dealing with low pressure systems, positioning is very important. So a difference of between 50 and 100 miles is going to make all the difference in the world between whether or not you get a severe storm or you actually miss it. So that's what we're dealing with in this situation. So on Sunday evening, it could be snow heavy at times. We do have winter storm watches up in effect. They'll be changed to warnings as things get a little bit clearer later on Saturday, and we'll be updating you here on the Weatherman part. So make sure you check in then to get the latest. But uh as we get into Monday, after whatever super uh amount of snow or light amount of snow occurs on Sunday evening, early Monday, we will get into a clearing trend for later Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with some colder weather, then back to near-normal conditions as we head towards the end of the week. Now, if you're flying today, I've actually got a lot of friends and family that are all across the nation trying to get in. Of course, on Sunday night and on Monday. So we're trying to get them in early on Sunday. Or if we do have that heavy storm, it means that there will be extensive delays getting into the New York area by either later Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of this week. So it's best to get in early Sunday. Uh right now, actually, to get in tonight, that's not bad either for the New York area. Uh look on the weather charts, does show rainy conditions, but nothing major down across Norfolk Newport News. In the uh Charlotte area, showers will be ending. We'll get into a clearing trend for the afternoon. Also, in Atlanta, there may be a little bit of light rain and some showers, but nothing much weather-wise. That will really slow things down into the busiest airport in the world in Atlanta. Down in central and south Florida, it's gonna be dry. Looks like some showers in Houston, dry in Dallas, dry in Chicago and Minneapolis, St. Paul, West Coast, showing dry conditions in San Diego, LA, but looks like some rain moving into San Francisco, rainy weather into Portland and Seattle during the daytime today. So if you can get, if you're trying to get back into the New York area or traveling out on Sunday evening, Monday, you probably want to change your plans because of the development of this storm, but we'll have more on that as this weekend continues. In the meantime, hope you have a good day today. And check in a little bit later on today. I'm thinking somewhere in the middle afternoon hours on your Saturday, it'll give you an update as far as what the models are saying. We'll probably be dealing with uh winter storm warning in effect for the Mid Atlantic and Northeast at that time. But we'll update you a little bit later on today. I've been your Roger Steve Pellethiery and I am the Weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you our first thing this afternoon. See you then.
