Welcome And Regional Climate Check

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this has been your baller Steve Pelleterian. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPond.com on your Wednesday, 25th day of the month of February. Quickly coming to a close. So far, the month of February across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast is running about four degrees below normal, four to five degrees below normal. This will be the third month in a row, December, January, and February, below normal temperatures. Also, we continue with the uh lower amounts of liquid precipitation. We melt the snow down, it really matters because it goes into the uh water systems. But uh we have been below normal for at least the last six months, so getting a little bit concerned about that. But weather-wise for today, we started off with some snow showers in many communities across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast as a little front moved through. That front will move offshore and we'll get into a clearing trend during the afternoon as our highs range into the 40s. And at night, it'll be fair to partly cloudy down to about the mid-20s. Thursday's weather is also looking partly sunny. It could be a rain or snow shower during the afternoon. Highs will range to near 40, with a chance of a rain or snow shower at night. Then snow showers overnight, but low temperatures 24. Doesn't look like there's going to be a lot of precipitation, but that looks like that chance does remain for tomorrow evening. Then on Friday, a partly sunny day near 40. The last day of the month on Saturday, mostly sunny, highs 45 to 50. And the first day of March on Sunday. Well, it doesn't start off too bad. Uh mostly cloudy, but our highs 40 to 45. Could be some snow on Monday night, uh, or at least Sunday night and on Monday. If you are traveling by air today, well, at least everything's starting to open up nicely across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast after that tremendous snowstorm that we had last weekend. But uh that means that uh the flights are working good, but you know, a lot of folks trying to get back because their flights were canceled. I think uh during the latter portion of Sunday and into Monday, there was close to 6,000 flights canceled. So all those folks have to get where they have to go, and uh that means that they're gonna be booked solid for at least the next several days. But it looks like uh things are improving weatherwise, at least uh for flying. No problems in the New York, Norwich, LaGuardia area. Up in Boston could be some snow showers. Down in DC, maybe a rain shower, but mostly dry. Dulles is also looking pretty good. Charlotte also looking fair, no problems weatherwise going into Atlanta or into central or south Florida. It's dry in Houston and Dallas Fort Worth, no problems in and out of there weatherwise. Also looking at Chicago, looking at a sunny day with temperatures in the 30s, fair skies in Minneapolis also. And looks like good weather in San Diego, LA, San Francisco, some showers in Portland, but rainy weather in Seattle, Tacoma today. I've been your bodger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Have a great day today. We'll talk to you first thing on Thursday. See you then.
