Hi, this is Biddy Roller, Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPomb.com on your Sunday, first day of March 2026. And it basically represents what we call meteorological springtime, the beginning of meteorological springtime on the first day of March winter. Meteorological winter starts on December 1st, even though astronomically it's around the 22nd. Just around uh astronomically now we're also looking at the uh what we call the vernal equinox. Uh that will be somewhere around the 20th to the 22nd. Not sure exactly what it was, but it will in fact happen then. But this is the start of springtime. Why? Because the sun rises earlier, it sets later, it goes higher into the sky, and each and every day we pick up three minutes of sunshine. And the atmosphere just tends to be a little bit warmer. Now, on the weather charts, we do see that it's going to be warmer after today, tomorrow, and possibly Tuesday. And we get into a warm-up commencing Wednesday. It'll probably last until about the 14th or 15th. Then a few outbreaks of cold air will be heading down out of the northwest, and we'll probably get closer to near normal conditions, but it will be above normal temperature trends. And the way that it looks like it's above normal probably means that this month of March will be about a degree or two above normal uh temperature-wise, but probably above normal rainfall-wise. Whether or not we're going to get some snow, it's always possible in the month of March. Remember the great blizzard of 1888. Also occurred in the month of March, way back in the 19th century. So, in the meantime, for today, we do have the possibility of a few snow showers in some communities off to the north and to the northeast. To the south, maybe a rain shower, but that's a little cold front moving through. Then to high temperatures today, up to about 40. It will be clearing up tonight. Overnight lows back into the middle teens. Sunny skies on Monday with an increase in clouds. Highs for the day only near 31 degrees. That's going to be an average of about 12 degrees below normal. Some rain is likely on Tuesday. It may start as a little period of some snow and sleep, then over to rain as high temperatures go up to near 40 in the atmosphere. A lot starts to warm up. Rainy weather is possible on Tuesday night, 35. Also the chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Both days' temperatures will range into the upper 40s, lower 50s. Actually, on Thursday, we're looking at the possibility of highs all the way up to between 55 and 60. So it is going to be a warm week coming after a little bit of cold weather business for today and tomorrow. Now, if you're traveling by air today with a little bit of rain and some snow showers in the New York area, especially early going on your Sunday, just minimal delays. I don't see any major problems. There could be a heavier area of snow up around the Boston area. That could slow things down up in that area maybe by an hour or two. Charlotte's looking dry, as is Atlanta. South Florida will have some scattered thunderstorms, but nothing major. Houston's looking dry. Dallas Fort Worth clouding up, maybe some rain for tonight and tomorrow, but daytime doesn't look bad getting into Dallas and Chicago and Minneapolis, St. Paul all under high pressure. So it looks like good weather there. Fair and Los Angeles clouding up with some rain likely later in San Francisco. Raining in Portland, but still looks like dry weather up in the Seattle Tacoma area for your Sunday. Hope you have a good month of March, a great Sunday, and we'll talk to you first thing on Monday. See you then.
