Regional Rain And Today’s Setup

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is Vidy Brother Steve Pellethiery, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Friday. It's the sixth day of the month of March 2026. In a day that we had started off with some hefty rains during the overnight. The rains extended from central Virginia up through Maryland, just about all of New Jersey, and even into southern New York State, Long Island, and New England. Rain move on through looks like between a half and one inch of rainfall. There were some downpours. Now we have some areas of fog to start the day, but as the day wears on, it'll be variably cloudy. And high temperatures only rains in the middle forties. About the mid-40s, that's normal for this time of year for the given sixth day of March in these parts. And nighttime lows should get down to about 32. That's not going to happen. For tonight, there is that possibility of some showers. Nighttime low temperatures down to the middle 30s, so maybe a good five degrees above normal. Then it really starts to get up above normal on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Saturday's weather, early fog again. Then mostly cloudy. 56 at night could be some showers down to 47 for nighttime low. So and uh daytime Sunday, some early showers giving way to partial sunshine, 64. And in our extended outlook, it looks like Monday's gonna be sunny, middle to upper 60s, near 70, Tuesday sunshine, low 70s, Wednesday, 70 to 75, but it looks like a chance of some rain by later day and evening. Then we get back to a little bit of cooler weather as we head towards the end of next week. If you're traveling by air today, looks like lots of moisture around much of the nation. It's raining from Minneapolis, St. Paul all the way down to the Texas Gulf Coast, eastward, right through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and even into the Georgia area. We are looking at the possibility of some rain in Atlanta, and that is going to be with some isolated thunderstorms too. It looks like uh some occasional light rain in Charlotte, no major problem. Dry weather in New York, but we do have cloud cover, but it shouldn't amount to any delays in LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, and up in the Boston area, it looks like. Uh more rainy weather, and there was some ice earlier in eastern Massachusetts. So at Logan could be some delays because of some foul weather there. Central and South Florida looking pretty good. Might be a few showers, but nothing much. As mentioned, it looks like rain in Atlanta, so slowing things down at that major hub across the world. Houston is going to be dry but rainy weather, and possibly some locally severe weather in Dallas-Fort Worth, so expect delays in central and east Texas because of the possibility of locally severe weather. And we see most of that severe weather in eastern Oklahoma, northwestern sections of Arkansas, and southwestern Missouri. So that will be the hot spot for the possibility of some tornadoes this afternoon and through the weekend. Snowy conditions in the mountains of Colorado extending into northwestern Nebraska and the Dakotas. West Coast is dry from LA to San Francisco, but rainy weather continues in Portland and Seattle today. I'm in your Steve Pellet here, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to your first thing on Saturday morning. See you then.
