Hello And The Date

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is B. Justine Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theWeathermanPot.com on your Saturday. It's the 21st day of the month of March 2026. And the first full day of springtime around the area. Of course, we always say that meteorological spring starts on the first day of March and ends on the first day of June. And that's because of the way that the sun, the amount of sunshine you get, the amount of daylight, the amount of energy into the atmosphere. By the time you get to March 1st, the sun is rising about a minute and a half early and setting a minute and a half later. You get three extra minutes of sunshine each and every day. The sun goes higher into the sky. It uh warms the lower atmosphere that much more. And of course, we can see that effect. Once we got into March, all that terrifically terrible weather across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast started to go away. Even though we are having these little rain showers, and we have had a few traces of snow so far during this month of March in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. However, we get into some rainy weather for this weekend. Now, for today, it'll be mostly sunny. Highs are generally between the upper 50s, low to mid-60s, northwest winds. Some clouds tonight, 41. Another frontal system arriving on Sunday. We'll go an increase in clouds and the possibility of some rain late day and evening. But temperatures will be warm, 65 to 70 on Sunday, but then at night with those showers and thunderstorms. That's a strong cold front. Lows down to 45. Highs on Monday, only 49 after some early showers, then a clearing trend. Tuesday and Wednesday are looking sunny. Both days are highs only in the 40s to near 50, which is pretty close to normal for this time of year. Now, if you're traveling by air today, I try to give you a little heads up of where you might have some delays because of the weather. Of course, at a lot of uh most of the airports in the nation are delays because of TSA uh understaffing. And of course, that's just gonna cost the lines to be a little bit longer. Check with your carrier, check with your airport and news as far as how it is going at your particular place. But in the New York area, North Laguania at AFK, the weather will show uh possibility of some rain moving in sometime uh during the um later portion of Sunday. So Saturday's gonna be dry, pretty good day, weather-wise, no problems in and out because of the weather. In the Boston area, also about the same. Uh in Philadelphia and Baltimore, D.C., all looking at excellent conditions, at least for today, but clouds will be moving in. Some rainy weather coming in later Sunday. Atlanta and Charlotte are looking dry. And as we head towards uh the West Coast, actually, both uh Houston and Dallas dry, dry weather in South Florida, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and even the Pacific Northwest. Look at this. In Portland and Seattle, looks like they're getting a little break from the rain, but I see another frontal system moving in from the Pacific Northwest. In the meantime, we are looking at some excellent weather, at least generally tranquil conditions across the nation today. Chicago's looking pretty good. Minneapolis, maybe some rain, but no major weather patterns across the nation on this Saturday. I'm in your Roger, Steve Felder and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. See you then.
