Quick Hello And Date Check\n
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Midi Roger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpod.com on your Wednesdays, the first day of April, 2026. A lot of folks say April fool stuff, but I'm not going to go there today. Basically, the last couple of days of the month of March will well didn't fool you really. It was warm and nice, as a matter of fact, in many places near 80 degrees. And we start off April, also near 80 degrees. That's probably about a good 15 degrees above normal for this time of year. And it looks like it is going to change. Now, an easterly wind will develop around the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. And when that happens, the ocean temperature is at its coolest. And the winds off the water will cause things to cool down just a bit for, say, Thursday, especially in Philly, most of New Jersey, New York, Long Island, and up in southern New England. However, elsewhere further to the south, it's that southerly wind that will continue to drive temperatures into the 70s. And by Saturday of this weekend will be temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s once again. But strong cold front will be arriving during the evening hours on Saturday, early Sunday, Easter Sunday. We will have some rainy conditions then. In the meantime, for today, get set for the possibility of some scattered showers or some thunderstorms. Then midday during the afternoon could be some sun. Highs or rains in the 70s to near 80. At night, that chance of a shower, thunder shower, the east winds kick in, and temperatures drop back into the middle 40s and will most likely stay in the 40s to near 50. So with a slight chance of some showers on Thursday. By Friday, mostly cloudy up to 74. 81 on Saturday, only in the 70s, with some scattered showers on Easter Sunday. Early next week, temperatures back to near normal. 57 is a normal high for this time of year. 55 to 60 expected from Monday through Wednesday of next week. Now, if you're traveling by air today, the frontal system is almost stationary, extending from Kansas right through Missouri, and then into southern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, right in through Pennsee, northern West Virginia, and into New Jersey and New York. That frontal system will dip a little bit further south for a while, then dip back north as a warm front, and that'll be happening on Thursday night, early Friday, resulting in those temperatures expected to go back into the 70s and 80s. But then another strong cold front will be arriving sometime in the second half of the weekend, say Easter Sunday and into early next week when we get back into near normal conditions. But with the frontal system close by that meets some scattered showers. So some light to moderate delays in New York, LaGuardia, JFK, also up in the Boston area. Some scattered showers also in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC. It looks like some light rain or showers in the Charlotte area. It will have some occasional rain, possible IFR conditions, but mostly afternoon showers in Atlanta. Central and South Florida is drying out just a bit. A lot of rain last several days. Orlando, Daytona, down to Tampa, St. Peter, all the way down to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm. Should be mostly dry. No problems expected there. Rainy conditions in Houston, Dallas dry, but on the warm side. Looks like LA dries out just a bit for a day, but rainy up in San Francisco. Rain moves back in to Portland and Seattle. During this afternoon tonight, expect some delays in the Pacific Northwest. Have a great day today. Talk to your first thing on Thursday. See you then.
