Welcome And Today’s Setup

Hi, this is Meteorologist Steve Pelveterian. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in for the Weathermanpot.com on your Wednesday, 8th day, the month of April 2026. Month going by very quickly, quickly approaching third of the way through. And we're looking at a mostly sunny day across much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Centered around New York City, looking at highs of about 50 to 55 in the 40s, west and north, and a little bit warmer than that, mid-50s, expected from Philly South to Baltimore and D.C. But looks like we are going to have areas of frost again tonight, especially in any interior spots where temperatures will drop down to around 27 to 32. I mentioned the possibility of frosting this April because it's still a little bit early in some places to make those spring plantings. And you probably want to wait until about the middle of next week. That's when we're expecting some warmer conditions. So a frosty start to Thursday gives way to sunshine and highs near 60, clear at night down into the 30s to near 40. So not as cool Thursday night, early Friday. And that signifies the warm-up that we're going to have. Friday looking at a sunny day in the lower 70s. Saturday, mid to upper 60s, Sunday, mid to upper 60s, both days with sunshine. But look at this. Early next week, it really warms up. Monday, partly Sunday, highs near 80 degrees, and Tuesday, sunshine, 80 to 85 in many spots across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Very warm weather. Probably will continue right in through the middle of next week. And dry. So we've got a run of dry weather commencing today right on through the middle of next week. Now, if you're traveling by air today, if you're traveling by air, I try to give you an idea of whether or not you're going to have any delays because of the weather. Now there are other reasons with delays. Sometimes the winds will be strong, but that's also a weather situation. Or uh you might have uh just some uh area airports having some uh uh problems with uh getting flights in and out because of either mishaps or emergencies in those places. So that tends to also mess things up as far as the timing all across the nation. Only place that we really see some bad weather today is across the Florida Peninsula, extending from Jacksonville right on down to Tampa, St. Pete and through Alcala and down through Orlando, also down to Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm, Daytona, Jupiter. You're all going to have some showers and thunderstorms today. Areas of moisture moving up out of the Gulf continue to drift towards the Florida Peninsula. So that's where the problems will be. Great weather in Atlanta and Charlotte, New York, Boston, no problems there. Even Chicago's starting to warm up just a bit. There'll be temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s, but fair skies there. Looks like some rainy weather in Minneapolis, St. Paul's a strong cold front moves through, and some drizzle and fog early in Houston. Some afternoon showers are possible. Dry in Dallas. Dry also in Los Angeles, San Francisco. Looks like some rain a little over central and northern California, but it does look like dry conditions for Portland and Seattle today. No problems weather wise, getting into those airports on your Wednesday. I'm your Roger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. We'll talk to you first thing on Thursday. See you then.
