Quick Introduction

Hi, this is Meteorology, Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to the Weathermanpot.com. On your Saturday, it is the 25th day of the month of April, 2026, and it has been dry this month of April in the east. As a matter of fact, a good portion of the country, it's been dry and warm. Except for uh across the uh Dakotas and also into Montana and northern Idaho. A little bit colder than normal in those places, also in northern Minnesota. But basically elsewhere across the nation, it's been generally dry, and it has been uh very warm, or at least uh three to five degrees above normal. In the east, it looks like we're gonna be averaging somewhere about two to three degrees above normal rainfall amounts, though, uh, right now are about two and a half inches below, but we're expecting rain for today of about maybe an inch to an inch and a quarter. Another round of rainy conditions possible for the last time this month on a Wednesday and Thursday of this week, and maybe another rainy day next Saturday as well for the first weekend of May. But in the meantime, for today, more showers. Temperatures for the most part only 50 to 55, and then rain of about three quarters of an inch during the daylight hours. At night, showers are likely down to about 41. Sunday's weather looks like maybe some early showers, but not as bad as this afternoon, this evening. A mostly cloudy, breezy, and cool day, 50 to 55. Monday sunshine, 64, Tuesday, sunny 64, and as mentioned, it will probably get back into some April showers around the middle portion of this upcoming work week. If you're traveling by air today, of course, in the east and in the northeast, we've got this overcast and wet weather, so uh look for one to two hour delays because of the weather. And uh maybe not at JFK, but they usually seem to, even where the weather's bad, they got so many runways there, they really work like clockwork, good conditions there, but maybe an hour or two at LaGuardia and Newark. Up in the Boston area also, Logan, probably the possibility of maybe a half to an hour delay because of the weather. Similar situation in Philly, Baltimore, DC, and Richmond. Further south, it looks like the frontal system gradually moving through and through the central and western portion of the Carolinas. And with that in mind, uh most of the showers that we have earlier in the day uh gradually giving way to an improving condition for the later afternoon and evening hours. But for the most part, you're looking at overcast and wet weather in the Charlotte area, also in Atlanta, with the front moving through the possibility of some thunderstorms there. So some delays into Atlanta and Charlotte. Uh also looking at a half to maybe an hour because of the weather. Central and South Florida looking pretty good. No problem in Houston, a few showers in Dallas Forth Worth, but nothing that's gonna hold up the weather or uh aircraft delays in and around there. It doesn't look like it'd be at a minimum. Chicago's dry, showers in Minneapolis, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and uh Southern Florida uh will have just some scattered thunderstorms, but mostly Southern California. That's where you're gonna have the rain. San Diego up to LA, all the way up to San Francisco, or a little south of San Francisco. You'll have some rainy conditions that extends into Nevada, so uh some much needed rain in uh the southwest corner of the nation. It will be dry in Portland and Seattle today. Looking ahead uh towards Sunday, just a quick look where we can see any problems. We're basically looking at uh still some rainy weather on the West Coast and uh some showers just off the Carolinas, but a clearing trend for New Jersey and dry weather for much of Boston and even out in Chicago, no problems weather wise there. I'm Demonto Steve Pellethi and I am the weatherman. On Sunday, we're going to talk about uh artificial intelligence in the weather models that we use. There's the Euro, the GFS, so many different types of uh weather models that are done all across the world uh four to six times per day. And artificial intelligence is a factor into that. Jeff Morrison has written some pretty nice story about what's actually going on in the weather world as far as artificial intelligence and numerical weather prediction. So that'll be at two o'clock on Sunday. That will be the 26th of April. Up until that time, hope you have a great Saturday. You need the rain, so we're gonna have some rainy weather in the east. Looks like some better weather coming Monday and Tuesday. Talk to your first thing on Sunday. See you then.
