Hi, this is Media Brother Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPond.com on your Wednesday, 13th day of the month of May, quickly approaching mid-month.

May So Far: Cool And Dry

SPEAKER_00

And taking a look at some of the stats so far for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, temperatures have been averaging near to slightly below normal, actually, about a degree below normal on average across the area. And that'll probably hold right up until the 15th. But this weekend, temperatures are going to be going into the 80s, so well above normal. Probably the second half. That will probably put us above normal temperature-wise for the month of May by all done. And so far we've only had generally less than an inch of rainfall in many spots. And maybe in places where you have had thunderstorms, of course, you can have some heavy downpours there. And we do have the possibility of some thunderstorms tonight. We'll get to that in a moment. But our amounts of rainfall generally an inch or less. And that is uh running about uh probably about an inch and a half below normal so far. We normally get around four inches of rain in May, and uh we are going to be below that. We have been dry for at least the last six to eight months. Of course, we did have some pretty active weather over the winter, but uh all told, liquid equivalent has been a little bit on the shy side right through the last at least five months. Well, let's hope for a little bit of a change and back to normal. Normal season's always

Local Forecast Through The Weekend

good. And what we're looking at today is a mostly cloudy, partly sunny day, depends on where you are. Temperatures arrange between 70 and 75. That's pretty normal for this time of year. South winds at 10 to 15, Guston to 30. Fortnite showers are likely, probably during the overnight hours since the frontal system moves through. Nighttime low temperatures are 50 to 55. That's close to normal for this time of year. Then on Thursday, look for some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon evening, mid to upper 60s to near 70, a little bit cooler that night, those showers down to 49. And then Friday, it looks like we start to clear out. High pressure builds in, mostly sunny. This time of year, you could have those afternoon thunderstorms build up, but they'll be widely scattered. Usually you see billowing cumulus clouds or towering cumulus clouds off into the distance, as typical for late May, and temperatures up to 68. Saturday sunshine, 80, mid-80s, expected for Sunday, and that warm weather will continue into

Air Travel Outlook At Major Hubs

SPEAKER_00

next week. If you're traveling by air today, here's a look at our weather at the major hubs across the nation. The frontal system will be arriving from the west during the evening and overnight, so it's going to be causing some clouds and some scattered showers. Just extremely light delays in the New York area today. At night there could be some thunderstorms. That will cause some delays. Boston area looking pretty good. DC about the same, some scattered afternoon, evening shower and thunderstorms causing some delays there. Atlanta's looking dry, not too bad in Charlotte. No problems central and south Florida except for some isolated thunderstorms. Dry in Houston and Dallas, dry in Chicago and Minneapolis, St. Paul. And it looks like Seattle will have some rain, but the rest of the places on the West Coast, San Diego, LA, San Francisco, and even in the Portland area will be just under partly cloudy conditions for today.
