Warm-Up Turns Into Heat Wave

SPEAKER_00

I left because it's just amazing how we're getting into this warm weather after having below normal temperatures for at least the first 16 days of the month of May. And now we're going on the other side, up above normal. Uh sunny skies. Today are highs will reach the upper 80s, near 90 in many spots, partly cloudy at night 65, sunshine 85 to 90 on Monday. Tuesday is a real hot day. Downright hot. It's going to be in the mid-90s, all with sunshine partly cloudy at night 73. Then on Wednesday, an approaching weather front will give us the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening. But before that time, on Wednesday, expecting highs to go between 95 and 100 degrees around the area, so record high temperatures for the next several days. Then by Thursday, begin to partial sunshine, a little bit cooler in the mid-70s and the 60s on Friday and Saturday. Similar to this type of little heat wave that we had during the month of April, but here it is in the month of May. Of course, this is going to put our temperatures above normal just because of Ford well above normal days, despite the fact that for a good balance of this month, temperatures have been generally below normal. So we've got some heat coming up over the next several days, and it commences today with sunshine in the upper

80s. Now, if you're traveling by air today and thinking a look around a nation as far as what the weather is going to be from place to place, and if you have any problems getting into some of those uh major arteries or the major uh, I suppose, hubs around the region. Of course, the number one hub in the world is Atlanta, busiest in the world. And we've got generally fair skies expected for there. Also fair in Charlotte as well. And as we take a look over towards uh South Florida, scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, but there's really nothing much. Uh basically just isolated showers there. Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, also some scattered afternoon thunderstorms, very hot, muggy conditions expected there. Heat in Chicago, but dry weather, rainy conditions up in Minneapolis, St. Paul, locally severe weather in sections of eastern Dakota, northeastern Nebraska, northwestern Iowa around Sioux City. And it looks like uh in Minnesota at uh Minneapolis, St. Paul, it will be overcast in IFR and rainy conditions. Expect some delays getting into there. Some hefty weather across four quarters, or just to the north across Utah, sections of northwestern Colorado and southern Wyoming. Uh LA looks like uh they're hanging into that Santa Ana winter. It looks like uh dry weather for Los Angeles and San Francisco, but becoming windy and also dry up in Seattle and Tacoma as well.
