Welcome And A June Poem

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is Meteorologist Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Thursdays, the fourth day of the month of June, 2026. And what is so rare as the day in June? Then if ever come perfect days, then heaven tries earth, if it be in tune. And that basically means that poem by James Russell Lowe that goes on another 75 lines, uh, just about says that uh, hey, the weather in the month of June can be absolutely beautiful and perfect. And at point, some point, sometimes even heavenly, I might add.

Sunshine And Heat Today

But uh the weather for today is going to be pretty good. Plenty of sunshine for the most part, mid-Atlantic and Northeast, big area of high pressure from the Great Lakes right to the eastern seaboard. And it's going to give us a nice day with temperatures warmer than they should be this time of year, upper 80s, lower 90s. Look out for mostly clear skies at night, 63, and then mostly sunny tomorrow,

Coastal Breezes Cool The Beaches

91. Now, again, the winds are going to be very light at the surface, and that means along the shoreline, Delmarva, Jersey Coast, Long Island coast, you're going to have cooler temperatures because of the winds are going to come right off the water. Ocean's very chilly this time of year, working its way into the lower 60s. And that means that any breeze that comes off there will significantly cool conditions along coastal areas. And we're going to have more and more of that as we get into the summertime. We're officially in meteorological summer. It begins on June 1st. And uh, well, it's been beautiful weather since then, as mentioned by uh both Mr. Lowell

Weekend Heat Then Storm Chances

and myself. So weather situation for Friday and Saturday, both days, sunshine and hot, 90 to 95, cooler at the beaches. And then Saturday, we'll look for the possibility of some thunderstorms. Cold front will be arriving, and that's going to set the stage back to uh a little bit more of a typical weather pattern, temperature-wise at least. Thunderstorms possible on Sunday, with Sunday's highs getting up to about 83, but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all looking sunny. 70s Monday and Tuesday in the lower 80s and Wednesday of next week. So some pretty good weather coming up over the next several days. Yes, it's going to rain possibly on Sunday, but we do need the rainfall, and hopefully it'll just break the heat.

Air Travel Outlook Across The US

SPEAKER_00

If you're traveling by air today, as mentioned, that big area, high pressures right over the eastern half of the nation, and it's going to protect us with great conditions in the New York area. Boston, no problems. Weatherwise, great down in Philly. DC and Baltimore, Richmond all looking pretty good, as does Charlotte and Atlanta. Central and South Florida will get into some afternoon and evening thunderstorms, but nothing major. Most of the thunderstorm action from Fort Myers south to Naples, across to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. And it looks like more rain for Louisiana and back into Houston and Dallas Fort with some possibly heavy thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening hours today. Dry in Chicago, a few scattered showers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, but dry weather on the West Coast. LA, San Francisco, all the way up to Seattle, Tacoma. Some excellent weather for flying in and out of those airports
