Quick Intro And Date Check

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is Meteor Roger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPond.com on your Sunday, seventh day of the month of June, 2026. And we've got some great weather

Storm Damage And Power Outages

SPEAKER_00

for today. But yesterday and last evening, with that frontal system moving through, strong thunderstorms, locally severe, caused lots of power outages, tree limbs, and power lines down, and uh some power outages are still occurring in the early going on Sunday, but that's the day where's on things should straighten out nicely.

High Pressure Brings Fair Weather

SPEAKER_00

Uh, the weather charts show a high pressure across the Great Lakes. It extends fair weather right down into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Still lots of showers and some heavy weather across Iowa, Missouri, and the central Mississippi River Valley, all the way down to the Gulf Coast.

Severe Storm Risk In The Midwest

SPEAKER_00

And that's going to be causing uh quite a bit of showers and some locally severe thunderstorms in those areas during the afternoon, especially central and western Tennessee and Kentucky and northern sections of Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

New York And Mid-Atlantic Outlook

SPEAKER_00

Also looking at some scattered showers in southern portions of Florida, but it does look like a drier trend for the New York and Mid-Atlantic states, with temperatures expected to go only into the about the mid to upper eighties. Good amount of sunshine, west winds expected for today.

Week Ahead Warmup And Thunder Chances

SPEAKER_00

Now, it will be a cooler day tomorrow, with their highs ranging between 80 and 85 on Monday with sunshine. Tuesday, though, it starts to warm back up to near 90, and we see more heat coming in towards the end of the week. We may find some temperatures back up into the mid to upper nineties towards the end of this week and this upcoming weekend of June. In the meantime, though, it is going to be generally dry and nice weather for today and for tomorrow, probably Tuesday before that warm-up starts. And each afternoon and each evening has the risk of those scattered thunderstorms as we head towards the end of this week as well.

Air Travel Weather By City

SPEAKER_00

Traveling by air, well, I've already told you that it does look pretty good for the New York area. Some scattered showers up in Boston, I expected, uh, but it looks like dry weather down around the Charlotte. Uh maybe some late day scattered showers in Atlanta. Chicago, also some scattered showers, but nothing much. Minneapolis, St. Paul should be dry. Uh, Houston, scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms, Houston and Dallas with that heat down there. Looking at dry weather from LA to San Francisco, also dry up in Portland and Seattle today.
