Welcome And Weather Setup
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Media Belger Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Monday. It's the eighth day, the month of June, a quarter of the way through this beautiful month so far.
Sunshine Returns Across The Northeast
SPEAKER_00And we had some uh pretty nice weather on Sunday after those terrific thunderstorms moved through on Saturday evening. There was even some isolated thunderstorms that started to uh brew up during the afternoon on Sunday as some cooler air, unstable air aloft, uh started to work its way through central New Jersey and then even into sections of Long Island and into southern New England as well. Although that area is now further offshore, big area, a region of high pressure is going to move in, gonna give us very nice weather for today. Plenty of sunshine, our highs will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s, staying in the 70s across northeastern Pennsee in the Poconos and Catskills, but up to about 80, 83 degrees in the city and along the coast and further to the south. The winds will be a little bit out of the seabreeze section during the afternoon and early evening along the Jersey and Delmarva coast on Long Island shore as well. That'll
Warming Trend And Heat Late Week
SPEAKER_00be for later today. And it's that cooling sea breeze going to make it nice at the beaches over the next several days. Has temperatures every day will be a little bit warmer. Lows tonight, back down into the 50s to near 60. Tomorrow, highs of around 80 to 85. For Tuesday, it'll reach 85 to 90 on Wednesday with a slight chance of late-day thunderstorm, all with good amount of sunshine each day. And then Thursday and Friday, sunny and hot each day, 90 to 95. Cooling temperatures along the Jersey Shore during the afternoon. It'll be hot during the morning, and even along the most coastal areas of Del Marvel, all the way down to Virginia, northward, right up through Long Island and coastal New England. Temperatures will be significantly cooler there as we head towards the end of this week and this weekend when temperatures look like they are going to remain quite warm in the 90s. Thursday, Friday, even Saturday, and possibly even Sunday of this weekend as well. I fear that we'll probably have another strong cold front move through that will cause those locally heavy thunderstorms sometime this weekend or early next week, but progressively warmer each and every day. Enjoy the great weather as we have it today and tomorrow before it starts to really heat up
Air Travel Weather And Delay Spots
SPEAKER_00midweek. Now, if you're traveling by air today, big area of high pressure across the northeast, we'll keep the weather great in Philadelphia, Baltimore, D.C., up to New York, even up to the Boston area, really nice weather, but there will be some scattered showers. Working the way into Midway and Chicago and O'Hare, and even up to Wisconsin, Central and Northern Minnesota will also have scattered showers and some thunderstorms. So that's going to be true around Minneapolis, St. Paul. Also, some afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms, likely in Charlotte, and possibly some delays in the afternoon and evening in Atlanta because of areas of moisture that'll be developing, and possibly some locally severe thunderstorms across the Tennessee Valley in the central Mississippi River Valley during the daytime or afternoon hours today. This situation will most likely continue over the next several days as well. Central and South Florida looking pretty good. A little drier in Houston and Dallas, but still very hot. And Los Angeles and San Francisco, dry, but rain is moving into the Pacific Northwest. Looks like rain for Portland and Seattle. Expect some rain delays into Seattle, Tacoma during the afternoon and evening
