Welcome And Today’s Setup
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Meteorology, Steve Peliterian. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theWeathermanpod.com on your Friday. It's the 19th day of the month of June 2026. And our weather situation showed some pretty nice weather across the northeast. We had a weatherfront move through during the afternoon and early evening. It was basically dry. Some of the heavier rainfall was down across the Virginias and Carolinas.
Arthur’s Rain And Flooding Track
SPEAKER_00And also earlier, yet during the early portion of yesterday and also on Wednesday, we had Tropical Storm Arthur, that was just around the Texas Gulf Coast, actually moved overland. There's lots of rainfall in East Texas and out in the way now into central North Texas. There's lots of rainfall. That's also extending into Oklahoma, causing some flooding. But it's now just a uh low pressure system. And that disturbance will continue to move across the lower Mississippi River Valley and then eventually to North Carolina and Virginia. Might possibly give the Northeast a little bit of rain sometime either Sunday night
Northeast Weekend Forecast Highlights
SPEAKER_00or on Monday. But in the meantime, we've got some great weather for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, except for the Virginias, where there will be showers and also across the Carolinas. But New York area, Philadelphia, all the way up to the Bost region, we're looking at sunshine and high temperatures today ranging between 80 and 85. At night's going to be fair to partly cloudy. Nighttime lows 55 to 60 and 60 to 65 in a city. It looks like plenty of sunshine for Saturday. I'll reach the lower 80s again at night, mostly fair, upper 50s, low to mid-sixties, and then Sunday. It's Father's Day and the first day of summer. So we're officially arriving pre-dawn, a little bit past 4.54 in the morning. We're looking at uh weather situation for the day. There's going to be plenty of sunshine, but then an increase in clouds, as high as range between 80 and 85. And some of that rainy weather in the form of showers and thunderstorms is possible for Sunday night. And on Monday, then we get into a clearing trend for the middle of next week.
Air Travel Weather Across The US
SPEAKER_00Now, if you're traveling by air today, looks like our weather situation will be uh pretty good across the New York area and up in Boston, no problems weather-wise. Also, fair conditions in Philly, Baltimore, and D.C. Looks like some rain across Virginia Beach and Norfolk and all the way down into coastal North and South Carolina. Looks like some showers across Atlanta and dry weather in Nashville and in Charlotte. Dry weather also in Chicago, but it looks like rain up in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Houston's been pummeled by some rain in the last several days. It's going to be dry there today, but showers and thunderstorms, likely in Dallas, Fort Worth, so some delays getting into there. Central and South Florida, generally fair, just some later afternoon or early evening thunderstorms, typical for this time of year. LA's looking good. San Francisco, maybe a few showers, most of them across Northern California. Dry weather in Portland and Seattle expected
