Front Sweeps The Northeast

SPEAKER_00

It's 26th day in the month of June 2026, and we've got a few scattered showers last evening moving across the northeast. They extended from central Vermont, New Hampshire, all the way down to southern Maine, crossing in through much of Massachusetts, Connecticut, northern New Jersey, and then eventually down into northern Maryland. That's a frontal system that's uh basically going to dry out just a bit. We'll have some showers and a few spots off to the east this morning. But as the day wears on, we'll have a mix of clouds

and sun. Another round of showers and thunderstorms, however, across Missouri and southern sections of Illinois, and that'll be arriving during the daytime uh actually during the overnight and the early daytime hours on Saturday. By Sunday, however, high pressure starts to build in. We'll get some good weather for Sunday and Monday. Even on Tuesday, by the middle portion of this week, looks like we get into some very hot weather. Temperatures will be in the 90s, possibly too near 100 degrees on a Wednesday and Thursday of next week as we get into the new month of July.

But in the meantime, for today, mixed clouds and sun could be a passing sprinkler shower, especially later in the afternoon. Or high temperatures will range into the middle eighties, and at night, showers and thunderstorms are likely. Overnight, low temperatures holding in the middle 60s, showers and thunderstorms on Saturday morning. They'll be tapering off during the afternoon, but high temperatures for the day will range only to near 80 degrees because of the extra cloud cover and showers. By Sunday, however, becoming mostly sunny, and our high temperatures 80 to 85 degrees in that warm weather arrives early next week.

Air Travel Delays And Regional Storms

SPEAKER_00

Traveling by air today, frontal system mostly going through the area will become stationary off to the east, though that's going to cause some showers and thunderstorms before tonight. Also up in the Boston area could be some scattered showers. Philadelphia and D.C., some later afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are likely so some slight delays there. Also, some scattered showers in Charlotte and in Atlanta, but nothing much, nothing major. Central and South Florida, just typical afternoon and evening thunderstorms down there in the Florida Peninsula. And looking at some rain in Chicago, but dry weather in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Also dry in Houston and Dallas, West Coast, well, LA and San Francisco are dry, but rain has now moved in to the Pacific Northwest and Portland and Seattle, Tacoma. That'll be expected to cause some slight delays into those areas during this afternoon tonight and
