Cloudy Cool Stretch And Recent Storms

SPEAKER_00

And it looks like our weather's going to continue to be on the cloudy and cool side across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. My goodness, what a change in the weather patterns since the beginning of July. Gradually warmer weather first and second than those heavy thunderstorms that moved across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Friday of last week. Saturday, also some scattered showers and thunderstorms for the 4th of July. But looks like yesterday our weather was overcast with showers just about mostly afternoon and evening throughout the

weekend. Basically, between one and three inches of rainfall was recorded, and we still have some more rainy weather for today. But on the light side, a good deal of cloud cover from the mid-Atlantic to the northeast, but no severe weather for today. Just if anything, some scattered showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm. But then we get into

Midweek Clearing With Building High Pressure

a clearing thread. Big area high pressure is going to be building down from the north and should give us decent weather for the midweek and the end of the week as well. But for today, mostly cloudier temperatures will reach the middle 70s and bring that umbrella could be some scattered showers from time to time, especially in the afternoon and evening. Overnight tonight, down to 60 to 65. Nice weather tomorrow, sunny to 80 to 85 during the afternoon. And with the evening hours being fair to partly cloudy temperatures back down into

the 60s. Thursday also partly sunny, 80 to 85, with some late day and evening thunderstorm threats. That type of weather will most likely continue Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this upcoming weekend. Temperatures in the 80s, late day and evening thunderstorms.

Air Travel Impacts And IFR Delays

SPEAKER_00

If you're traveling by air today, a series of low pressure systems and a stationary front that lies across northern West Virginia, Maryland, and then down through the Del Marble Peninsula, just south of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York will continue to continue to give us some cloud cover and occasional rain and some showers that'll be with us throughout the daytime today into the evening with that cool temperature flow and a northeast wind. Eventually this area will move offshore, but it does look like IFR and some light delays in the New York area because of weather. Also, the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms up in Boston will slow things down there, as will in DC and Baltimore, expecting some rainy weather, especially in the afternoon. Scattered light showers in Charlotte and also Atlanta dry to partly cloudy and then some afternoon and evening showers, but no major problems in the Atlanta area. South Florida, still being hampered by those heavy thunderstorms during the later afternoon hours, and that's the time to avoid flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm. Out into the Houston area, maybe some scattered showers, some isolated thunderstorms in Dallas, Fort Worth.

Nationwide Snapshot And West Coast Calm

SPEAKER_00

Finally dry in Chicago and also drier for the most part in Minneapolis, St. Paul. West Coast remains on the dry side. Los Angeles and San Francisco, fair weather. Fair weather also in Seattle, Tacoma, with no major areas of low pressure expected to move in over the next
