Quick Hello From The Weatherman
SPEAKER_00Hi, this has been your author Steve Pelletarian. I am the weatherman.
Extreme Heat Warning And Peak Heat
SPEAKER_00Looks like we're into the heat again. Extreme heat warning in effect from this July 15th at around 10 a.m. up until 8 p.m. this evening. We are looking for a good amount of sunshine and very hot weather. High temperatures right around 100. Heat index values up to 105. On west winds at 10 to 15, they'll be gusting up to 20. And there is a chance of some showers and thunderstorms in the later afternoon and mostly the evening. Only a 20% chance during the daylight hours, but during the evening up to 30%, that probability of some thunderstorms that could be locally severe with some heavy downpours.
Midweek Cooling And Weekend Chances
SPEAKER_00Wednesday night low temperatures generally back down to about the only low to mid-70s. Now Thursday's weather's looking mostly sunny, highs of 90 to 95, clear skies at night 72, and then on Friday look for sunshine, highs 90 to 95. Here's a look at the weekend. Although there is a possibility of some late day showers and thunderstorms, Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy and highs only in the middle 80s. And Sunday, also partial sunshine, mid to upper 80s, and that chance of a late-day shower or thundershower at 50% for Sunday.
Flight Weather And The Stationary Front
SPEAKER_00If you're traveling by air today, it looks like a frontal system will be stationary from the central Great Lakes, all the way down into southern New York, northern Pennsylvania, and just over northern New Jersey. That frontal system will act as a little backdoor cold front and cool things back just a little bit as we head towards Thursday and Friday. And even into the weekend with the frontal system close by, there could be some scattered showers. But for today doesn't look like much as far as the weather is concerned for New York, LaGuardia, JFK, and also up around the Boston area, just some scattered late-day showers or thunder showers. Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., just hot and humid. And it looks like dry conditions there, dry in Chicago and also in Minneapolis, St.
Canadian Wildfire Smoke Moves In
SPEAKER_00Paul. There is some smoky weather moving down from Canadian wildfires that will be seen mostly across the Great Lakes and sections of New York State and New England. Down in Atlanta, it looks like some scattered showers, also some scattered showers down through central and south Florida, but most of the time dry.
National Rain And Severe Storm Zones
SPEAKER_00It looks like weather will be on the wet side for Houston and Dallas, Fort Worth, and there could be some locally severe weather and thunderstorms into Oklahoma, sections of Arkansas and northeast Texas. West Coast, showing dry weather in LA up to San Francisco, as it's been for the last several
