Welcome And Today’s Date
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Midianister Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPow.com on your Thursday, 16th day of the month of July 2026, into the second half of the month already.
Wildfire Smoke Moves Into Region
SPEAKER_00We had a pretty smoky day yesterday across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast because of wildfires across central and northern Canada. That uh northwesterly flow continues across the northeast, and that brings those areas of smoke. And looking at for that again today, you can know it by looking into the sky. Maybe a little bit hazy if it's perfectly clear. That's the smoky condition coming down from the northwest, and some of it is even subsiding down close to the surface. You can almost smell it in some places.
Today And Tonight Temperature Outlook
SPEAKER_00But as the day wears on, we are looking at uh mostly sunny, smoky weather, or high temperatures for the day, ranging between 90 and 95. And there is going to be mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions at night. Still some widespread smoke during the overnight hours. Nighttime low temperatures
Weekend Forecast And Smoke Relief Chances
SPEAKER_00down near 70. Friday's weather, mostly sunny, smoky weather again, or high temperatures up to near 90, and smoke and haze at night, nighttime lows 69. Some showers and thunderstorms could cleanse the atmosphere somewhat on Saturday. Saturday's high temperatures 86. Sunday also the chance of some early showers and partly sunny highs 80 to 85 on Sunday. Monday's weather, mostly sunny, also mid to upper 80s.
Air Travel Impacts And Airport Visibility
SPEAKER_00Traveling by air today. Oh, the smoky conditions causing visibility to be a little bit lower, and uh that could slow things down across the Northeast. North LaGuardia, JFK, Philadelphia, Maryland, down at Baltimore and D.C. in that smoking condition, as will be Boston and up in Buffalo. Chicago just on the edge. Minneapolis, St. Paul just touching into it, but in Detroit also very smoky conditions at Loft. But it looks like the frontal system almost stationary across the area will edge a little bit further south. So that may help the situation. We're still in a northwesterly flow, so no major problems flying in and out of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast on this Thursday. Still looks like some slight shower action across Atlanta and Charlotte. No problems majorly there down here. We're looking at Central South Florida, also just typical weather, which includes late-day thunderstorms. Some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, early evening, Dallas and Houston. And West Coast is dry LA, San Francisco. Some rainy weather. Finally moving into the Pacific Northwest, but not too bad. Should not hamper inbound and outbound flights into the Seattle, Tohomica area during the
Health Advisory And Closing
SPEAKER_00daytime today. I'm Eddy Rogers, Steve Pelleterian. Hope you have a great day today. Look after that smoke if you have some respiratory situations that might be causing uh either watering eyes or some respiratory situations. It could be because of the air quality due to the smoke from those wildfires in central Canada. So take care and uh keep uh indoors if you can. Air conditioning should be pretty good if you do that. I'm Steve Pelletier. Have a great day. Take care.
