Flood Watch And Storm Timing

SPEAKER_00

Hi, this is Midianister Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpound.com on your Saturday, 18th day of the month of July, 2026. And we do have uh flood watch and effect for many communities across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast because of expected showers and thunderstorms that are going to be with us today. Most of it will be during the later afternoon and during the evening hours, and the probability increasing to 90%. The amounts of rainfall between three quarters of an inch and two inches of rainfall in a short period of time in some of these heavy thunderstorms. And severe thunderstorm watches and warnings will most likely be issued for the latter portion of the day and the evening on Saturday. Highs will range between about 80 to 85 and showers and thunderstorms still likely into the evening hours. 90% probability with those, so it could be quite tough. Overnight lows 65 to 70.

Sunday And Monday Improve

Saturday's weather, Sunday's weather is looking partly sunny, and it's going to be a clearing trend on northwest winds with lower humidity or high temperatures up to about 80 to 85. Clear at night, all the way down to 61. Nice weather for Monday. Plenty of sunshine, highs 80 to 85. Back to a chance of some showers and some thunderstorms for Tuesday and Wednesday of this

upcoming week. If you're traveling by air today, well, of course, as mentioned, we are going to have some locally severe thunderstorms during the latter afternoon and evening hours. I think the morning hours on Saturday to the

midday, not too bad for the New York, LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark area, Philadelphia and Baltimore are about the same, but locally severe thunderstorms are due during the afternoon and evening, and that's going to cause delays. And if not, also some cancellations, depending upon the extent and the severity of some of those storms that'll be across the northeast. Also, a similar situation up for the Boston area and even down to D.C. So that whole area, the whole Northeast Corridor is going to be quite tough during the afternoon and evening hours with showers and thunderstorms today. So there will have some delays in and outbound. No problems in Chicago, just some light problems, just some afternoon showers and thunderstorms. It's Charlotte, so minimal delays into there. Atlanta also scattered showers. Central and South Florida also generally fair, but some late day and evening. Typical thunderstorms for the Florida Peninsula. Houston is going to be dry. Dallas, dry. Western portions of Texas, though, those heavy rains that they've been having looks like it's going to continue, especially across four corners. Chicago, pretty good. Maybe some showers. Smoky weather up around Minneapolis, St. Paul, and dry conditions from LA to San Francisco, all the way up to Portland and Seattle. No problem weather wise on the West Coast
