SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Midi Roger Steve Pelleteria, and thanks for checking in to theweathermanpod.com on your Tuesday. It's the 21st day of the month of July 2026, and what beautiful weather that we've had the last couple of days across the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. Yes, there was a lot of cloud cover across the Carolinas, and even some showers, Tennessee Valley, northern sections of Georgia and South Carolina. But further to the north and northeast, it's just been under this great high pressure system.
Thunderstorms Return With Heavy Rain
SPEAKER_00That's going to be changing for today. We do have some showers and thunderstorms due, especially during the afternoon and evening. The probability increasing up to 80% for today, and looking for the possibility of maybe a half to an inch of rainfall during the daylight hours. Flood Watches And Wednesday Outlook
SPEAKER_00down to about 70. Now, because of all this rain that is a potential, we do have flood watches in effect for many communities across the Mid-Atlantic Northeast for Tuesday and also for Wednesday. Wednesday looks like a chance of showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny, 80 to 85. Winds kick around to the west. That front goes through, and we'll get into some drier weather as we head into the latter portion of the day in the evening, although some stray thunderstorms are possible. Some places off to the south, South Jersey, Del Marva, Maryland, and even northern sections of Virginia.
Late-Week Dry Spell And Weekend Warmth
SPEAKER_00But it looks like we do get into some great weather for Thursday. Sunshine, high is near 80, low comfortable humidity, northwest winds, sunny skies on Friday, 82, 83 on Saturday, 85, expected for Sunday, rounding out this upcoming last weekend of the month of July. And uh going very, very quickly. We're into that final third of the month.
Flight Delay Forecast For Major Hubs
SPEAKER_00If you're traveling by air today, of course we have scattered showers and thunderstorms due for today, and that's going to cause significant delays into the Philadelphia, New York, Ligoria, JFK, and even uh down around DC as well. Boston, not too bad during the daytime. They will probably have those thunderstorms during the evening, but uh expect some delays, especially during the afternoon, evening, and also on the daytime on Wednesday because of these showers and thunderstorms as this frontal system arrives into the area by later
Gulf Coast Tropical Storm And National Notes
SPEAKER_00Wednesday. Uh down in Atlantis, dry, dry weather in Charlotte looking at tropical storm. Berthill, located just to the south of uh Tallahassee and Tallahassee, Florida, and Pensacola. Uh storm, maximum winds of 40 miles per hour, big rainmaker along the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. But in the meantime, Houston and Dallas were though looking dry, dry weather in Chicago. That front goes through the Minneapolis, St. Paul, so great weather uh out in central Mississippi, and excuse me, central Minnesota. And looking at just some foggy weather in LA, some showers in San Francisco, finally some rain moving in from the Pacific Ocean. And looking at some patchy dense fog in sections of Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland during the daytime today.
