Welcome And Today’s Date

Hi, this is Meteorology, Steve Pelvetieriana. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Tuesday. It is the 28th day of the month of July, 2026.

Storm Line Sets Up In The East

SPEAKER_00

We've had some great weather up until now, haven't we? Well, it looks like it's really going to be turning today, especially across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Actually, from the Carolinas north all the way into southern New England. Showers and thunderstorms are going to be the culprit for later in the day and at night. And because of all that, because of the amounts of rainfall that we could receive, between one and three inches of rain, uh, we are looking at a flood watch, possibly flood warnings for the afternoon tonight and tomorrow all across the area. So with those thunderstorms, there could be some locally severe storms, as well as is typical this month of July, 2026. And uh also have well above normal uh amounts of rainfall so far because of the thunderstorms that we had. If you can remember back to the 4th of July weekend, it was kind of tough. And uh now we're looking at the possibility of adding to that total already. So the month of July, probably near to slightly above normal temperature-wise, but well above normal as far as rainfall. We're gonna add to that today.

Midweek Outlook And Rain Totals

SPEAKER_00

Highs of rains to near 80, mostly cloudy, but heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon at night, with nighttime low temperatures settling back down only into the mid-60s. More of the same for Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely. Probably not as much rain, but pesky showers and thunderstorms will be with us throughout the day. 70s to near 80. Thursday about the same. Friday was looking pretty good now. Basically, we'll call it partly sunny, but maybe some late-day thunderstorms. This unsettled weather pattern looks like it might hang across the northeast and Mid-Atlantic for the next several days.

Flight Delays Likely This Afternoon

SPEAKER_00

Traveling by air, well, that's going to be a big problem, especially late in the day at night. I don't think any early going on Tuesday will have some major problems for New York, LaGuardia, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore. Doesn't look too bad there. But in the afternoon and evening, expect delays. If not, cancellations because of the locally heavy weather that will be. Moving on through the area, those are usually good between two and four hours, possibly as much as six hour with cancellations, uh, type of delays for later today and tonight, and also early in the daytime on Wednesday. So elsewhere across the nation, it's a little bit better, but the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast is going to have a tough go later today and tomorrow, as far as the weather is concerned, traveling in and outbound the eastern seaboard.

National Weather Quick Roundup

SPEAKER_00

Here's scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Atlanta area. Looks like some rainy weather, but nothing too heavy in the Charlotte region. So minimal delays in and out of there and into Atlanta, minimal delays as well. Looking at scattered thunderstorms, central and south Florida, dry in Houston and Dallas, dry in Chicago. Smoky weather moves back into central and northern sections of Minnesota and the Dakotas, but the weather will be generally fair there. West Coast, still dry. LA, San Francisco, all the way up to Portland and Seattle. The heaviest rains all around four corners and over Colorado sections of Utah, northern New Mexico, and eastern sections of Arizona.
