Welcome And Today’s Date
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Biddy Balder Steek Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpod.com on your Thursday. It's the 13th day of the month of August, 2026, and we're getting closer and closer to that. Midmonth period, mid-August, already coming up this weekend.
Warm Sunshine After Overnight Thunderstorms
SPEAKER_00And well, we had some thunderstorms rumble through the area during the overnight hours associated with the weak frontal system. Going to bring us some nice weather for the daytime on Thursday, becoming mostly sunny, or highs or reach in the mid to upper 80s, a few spots near 90. Partly cloudy at night down into the middle 60s, and Friday's looking sunny. Highs of the day 83 to 88 degrees. Partly cloudy at night down to 65. Saturday's weather features sunshine 86 and Sunday also mostly sunny 86, but a chance of some late day and evening showers and thunderstorms later on Sunday into early Monday of next
Clear Skies For Meteor Watching
SPEAKER_00week. Also for the overnight hours tonight and tomorrow, Thursday night into Friday, Friday night into Saturday, the skies will be clear. Moonlit skies, you'll have the possibility of seeing a few stray paracene meteors. They usually get their maximum somewhere on the 12th of August, 12th and 13th, depending upon uh the axis of the earth and of course uh the time of year being what it is. We many times can have a lot of cloud cover, haze, and fog, but uh in the morning hours, pre-dawn, both on Thursday, excuse me, Friday morning and Saturday morning, you will have some excellent viewing opportunity, possibly see between 10 and 15 parasited meteors as the maximum is reached early this morning. However, still we have uh very active uh meteor shower expected to occur with those clear skies.
Aviation Weather Across The Nation
SPEAKER_00As far as aviation interest for the nation, the final system has moved through the area, so it looks like pretty good weather for the New York, LaGuardia, JFK area, Boston, a few light showers left over, but they'll be clearing out during the afternoon. DC, Baltimore, might be some afternoon and evening thunderstorms there. Also dry in Charlotte, dry also in Atlanta, scattered late-day thunderstorms around Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Houston and Dallas should dry Chicago, more rainy weather, so some delays getting in and out of the Chicago area because of those hefty thunderstorms there. Much of the central and northern Rockies, all the way down to Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas under showers and some thunderstorms. It's kind of like the monsoon season down there. And on the West Coast, it's dry from LA to San Francisco. A few showers in Seattle, Tacoma, but no major problems
