Friday Through Sunday Forecast
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Meteorologist Steve Pelletieri, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to the Weathermanpot.com on your Friday, 14th day of the month of August, 2026, quickly approaching mid-month. And it does look like some excellent weather for the next several days. Beautiful conditions across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Still a lot of cloud cover because of a stationary front across uh North Carolina, down into South Carolina, also extending into the Tennessee and Kentucky area. And uh that area may even produce some scattered showers and thunderstorms, possibly moving back into the Philadelphia, New York, and Boston area sometime later on this weekend for later on Sunday and Sunday night. But for today, for the most part, look for mostly sunny skies. Cloud cover to the south, though, and temperatures ranging in the 80s to near 90. Cooler weather along the Jersey and El Marva coast, even the South Shore of Long Island should have a little sea breeze during the afternoon. Mostly clear at night, down to about 67. And for Saturday, look for sunshine in the middle eighties tomorrow. Partly cloudy at night, mid-60s. Sunday, it looks like partly sunny skies, then an increase in clouds, and maybe some showers and thunderstorms or high temperatures. 85.
Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing Tips
SPEAKER_00This is the topic year that we watch shooting stars in the overnight hours, and it's the Parised meteor shower. Happens each and every year between the 10th and the 20th at maximum right around the 13th earlier this morning, but the weather was kind of cloudy and there were some showers. But you can still see several shooting stars in the pre-dawn hour skies, just about anywhere, but look towards the northeast, uh, usually between uh 3 and 5 a.m. You might see two or three pretty good ones, but a lot of small shooting stars from the Paris meteor showers occurring right now.
Travel Weather For Major Airports
SPEAKER_00Traveling by air today. If you're leaving from the New York area, it looks like we don't see any major areas of weather, so no problems. Norwork LaGuardia, JFK, Philadelphia is looking pretty good. Baltimore could be some showers, also some scattered showers in Dulles and D.C. Uh light showers in Charlotte, uh, maybe a shower or two, but no major weather delays for the Atlanta area. Central and South Florida, it looks like the thunderstorms will be kicking up during the latter portion of the day, but most of the time, no problems there. And out in Chicago, getting a little bit of break from the weather. They've been having a lot of wet weather for the last several days in Chi Town, but looks like things will be improving just a bit there. Similar situation in Minneapolis, St. Paul, no problems weather wise. In Houston, looks like some rain. In Dallas, just hot and dry, dry weather from LA, San Francisco up to Portland and Seattle, although some scattered showers in Seattle Tacoma expected
