SPEAKER_00We may have some rumbling thunderstorms again today, and that's going to be in the afternoon and evening. Flood watches are in effect for mostly eastern sections and southern portions. Looks like some heavier rain in Del Marbo, Southern New Jersey, Long Island, and even coastal
Front Moves Through Weekend Outlook
SPEAKER_00New England. This is associated with a frontal system that will move through. It'll give us one nice day, and then another area of low pressure currently across the western Great Lakes will be arriving on Saturday, opening the door to another fresh high-pressure system. Possibly a little bit better weather, but the threat of some scattered showers and thunderstorms looks like it's going to be with us right through much of this weekend and into early next week. Looks like a little bit of a drying trend. But for today, it looked like sunshine and clouds and the possibility of those thunderstorms in the afternoon and flood watches.
Temperatures And Day By Day Forecast
SPEAKER_00Temperatures for the day, generally between 80 and 85, with showers and thunderstorms possible at night, nighttime above temperatures 64. So the chance of some late day or evening showers on Friday. I think Friday will be a better day, partly sunny, up to 81. Saturday, clouds and sun with showers and thunderstorms, highs 81. And by Sunday, starts to improve a bit, partly sunny. Late day shower possible, 50% chance of that on Sunday, high 84. Monday and Tuesday, sunshine, lower 80s, both days.
Air Travel Impacts And Regional Rundown
SPEAKER_00Traveling by air today, though those heavy thunderstorms in the later afternoon and this evening will cause locally delays in the New York area, LaGuardia, JFK, Philly, and Baltimore, all uh expecting some delays because of thunderstorms. Uh, some lighter delays up in the Boston area, D.C. and Dulles also affected by these showers. Looks like dry weather in Charlotte, generally dry in Atlanta. Central and South Florida, just typical late day thunderstorms, no major problems there. Houston and Dallas looking fine. Fine weather in Chicago, some rainy conditions in Minneapolis, St. Paul, the West Coast remains dry.
